    BROOKLET — The Claxton Tigers also defeated Southeast Bulloch Friday night, 83-36.
    Leading scorers for CHS were Rashod Lovett with 23 points and LaBron Glover with 17 points. The leading scorer for the Yellow Jackets was Blake Lundy with 10 points.
    Claxton (5-0) led at the half 51-26.
    The Tigers also host Tattnall County tonight at 7:30 p.m.

    Screven County bests Lady Panthers
    SYLVANIA — Screven County (6-1) defeated Portal 54-31, Friday night.
    The Lady Panthers led 10-9 after the first quarter, but only made two free throws in the second quarter. At halftime they trailed the Lady Gamecocks 18-12. Screven outscored Portal 19-7 in the third and started to pulled away.
    Screven’s leading scorers were Destiny Brewton with 12 points, Carissa Burns with 11 points and eight rebounds and Bria Lonon with nine points and 12 rebounds.

Claxton defeats Southeast Bulloch
    BROOKLET — Claxton’s Lady Tigers (1-4) got their first win of the season as they beat the Southeast Bulloch Lady Yellow Jackets 53-35 Friday.
    Leading scorers for Claxton were Polly Murray with 17 points, Deetra Williams with 13 points and Devonna Brewton  with 12 points.  Jasmine Brewton had 13 rebounds.
    At halftime Claxton was up 30-13.
    Claxton will face Tattnall County at home tonight while Southeast Bulloch travels to Portal. Both games start at 6 p.m.

Metter tops Toombs
    METTER — The Metter Tigers defeated Toombs County 56 -31 Friday.
    Leading corers for the Tigers were Devin Byrd with 15 points, James Gunn with 11 and Devin Dekle with eight.
Metter plays Treutlen County tonight at home following the girls' game.

Portal bests Screven
    SYLVANIA - Portal (2-0) defeated Screven County 80-66 Friday night.
    Leading scorers for Portal were Jamie Hagins with 16 points, Isiah Rich with 16 points, Jordan Buchannon with 13 points, Corey Reese with 12 points and Robert Lee with 10 points.
    The leading scorer for Screven County was Nigil Campfield with 17 points.
Portal hosts Southeast Bulloch tonight at 7:30. A ribbon cutting will be held for the new school will be at 5 p.m.
