Screven eliminated in Game 3

ZEBULON — Screven County's hopes of an Elite Eight appearance came to an end Tuesday after loading the bases in the seventh inning, as the Lady Gamecocks (27-10) ended their season with a 5-4 loss to Pike County on the road in the GHSA Class AA state second round.
Trailing 5-3 in the final inning, Screven's Madison Torrez drove home Rochelle Schuman for SCHS's final run.
Torrez put the Gamecocks ahead 1-0 in the second when she drove in Courtney Burns with an RBI single, and Lauren Thomas homered to lead off the two-run fifth tht also saw Schuman score on a Pike error.
Pike scored two in the second and three more in the sixth to round out the scoring and seal the win.
