Richmond Hill tables land request

RICHMOND HILL — Ford Plantation homeowners seemed to leave the Richmond Hill City Council meeting pleased Thursday after the council unanimously agreed to table a request to clear land on a portion of Richmond Hill Plantation.

According to city planning and zoning documents, Steve Croy requested to disturb only 7.18 acres of the property, known as the Plantation Village site, for the purpose of clearing right of ways for future roads.

However, City Planning and Zoning Director Steve Scholar told the council that in the days before the meeting he found some questions in the request that he couldn't answer. So he asked city attorney Ray Smith to offer an opinion.

Smith's written opinion to the board was not immediately available, but he did recommend that the council table the issue but work with Croy in the coming weeks so as to not delay his request any further.
