Pink Panthers support breast cancer awareness

Portal's Mary-Ashley Hensley, center, steps up to bat against Wheeler County.

Portal donned pink jerseys in a show of support for Breast Cancer Appreciation Month. During this week, the Georgia High School Association allowed any team that wished to do so the opoortunity to wear pink uniforms, accessories or equipment to show their support.

Regardless of their uniform color, the Lady Panthers came out in top form, routing Wheeler County by a score of 15-0 in just three innings.

Megan Moore pitched a 1-hitter and also drove in three runs while earning the win. Boshna Williams and Laquana Jordan drove in two runs each with Megan Anderson and Brionna Flood also recording an RBI.

The Panthers return to action next Monday with a road game against Statesboro.
