SHS, BA ladies ousted from state

    The Statesboro Lady Blue Devils couldn’t overcome a 15 point second half deficit, eventually falling to Westlake 59-50 in Atlanta on Friday in the first round of the GHSA Class AAAA first round.
    Statesboro got to within four points with just under three minutes to go, but couldn’t close the gap out any further.
    Monnette Bennett led SHS (18-11) with  24 points.

BA Girls knocked out
    A cold night from the field doomed the Bulloch Academy Lady Gators, falling 45-28 to the Brookwood School Friday in the second round of the GISA Classs AA tournament.
    Kacie Lanier had nine points to lead BA (13-17) while three Warriors (21-5) were in double figures. The Lady Gators trailed 24-2 at halftime after being outscored 13-0 in the second quarter.
