    MILLEN — Three Bulloch Academy cross-country squads won their respective team meets on a 2.5-mile course at Magnolia Spring State Park Wednesday.
    The BA varsity boys, varsity girls and junior varsity girls took first places while the junior varsity boys were second.
    Ashley Burke won the 19-runner varsity girls’ meet while Pate Lomax was second. Burke broke the tape at 17:43 while Lomax clocked a 17:44. Haley Burke ran an 18:34 for fourth while Emily Morgan was fifth (18:53). Annsley Lomax was sixth (19:27).
    Will Johnson won the 27-runner varsity boys’ meet with a 14:07. Chris Williams was second (17:05), Haze Smith was third (17:09), Hunter Jacobs was fourth (17:32) and Chase Merrill was sixth (17:54).
    Tatum Blitch won the 1.5-mile junior varsity girls’ race with a time of 11:43. Hannah Dasher was second (11:45), Abby Morgan was fourth (12:57), Cate Williams was sixth (13:49) and Kendra Houghton was 12th (15:39).
    Oliver Cope was the highest BA finisher in the junior varsity boys’ race, taking third with a 10:59. Aaron Feldman was eighth (11:35), Justin Lane was 11th (12:01), Will Bowen was 13th (12:39) and Brandon Burnsed was 16th (13:45).
    Bulloch Academy travels to Macon Tuesday for a multi-team meet at Stratford Academy.

BA bests RTCA in junior varsity match
    Andrew Howell rushed for 114 yards and scored three touchdowns to help Bulloch Academy blast Robert Toombs Christian Academy 36-0 Thursday in junior varsity football action.
    The eighth grader had scoring runs of 45, 42 and 21 yards each and had added a two-point conversion. He only touched the ball four times. Classmate Lee Waters had 107 yards on three carries and added both a TD and two-point conversion. Seventh grader Lanier Olliff had a 75-yard kickoff return for a touchdown.
    On defense, Howell and sixth grader Hayden Haynes had five tackles each. Olliff had an interception and eighth grader Jake Hagan recovered a fumble. In the opening game of the season on Sept. 2, Bulloch blanked David Emanuel Academy 44-0.
    The Gators (2-0) host Trinity Christian School next Thursday. Game time is 6 p.m.
GSU falls 2-0 to Tennessee Tech
    The Georgia Southern women's soccer team kept Tennessee Tech scoreless in the first half, but a pair of second half goals gave the Panthers (2-4-0) a 2-0 victory over the Eagles (2-3-0) in the first round of the Samford Invitational in Birmingham, Ala., Friday.
    GSU will wrap up play at the Samford Invitational against Kennesaw State on Sunday at 12:30 p.m.
