Mr. and Mrs. Michael Lamar Nelms

    Kelly Lindsey Rogers of Statesboro became the bride of Michael Lamar Nelms of Lexington, Ga., on September 26, 2009, at 3 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Statesboro, Ga.
    The bride is the daughter of Glenn and Glenda Rogers of Statesboro. She is the granddaughter of Gwendoline Rogers and the late T. Martin Rogers of Statesboro and Louis Anderson and the late Mary C. Anderson of Statesboro and Mr. and Mrs. Harry Kennedy of Savannah, Ga.
    The groom is the son of Tami and Mark Floyd of Lexington, Ga. He is the grandson of Audrey Nelms and the late Ted Lamar Nelms of Lexington, Ga., and Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Floyd.
    The Rev. John Waters officiated in the ceremony. Mrs. Sheila McKee, organist, and Christian Chance, soloist, provided music for the ceremony.
    Escorted by her father, Kelly wore a white fit and flare silhouette with a sweetheart neckline made of rich taffeta. The strapless bodice was embellished with intricate embroidery and crystal detailing. The dropped waist was accented with asymmetrically ruched taffeta at the side hip line. The back of the gown featured a V-shaped back and button detailing.
    Her fingertip veil was trimmed with crystal detailing that matched the gown. She carried a hand-tied bouquet of white roses, light blue hydrangeas and blue violet flowers. For something blue, Kelly wore royal blue pumps with a six pence attached to the bottom of her shoe. For something old and borrowed, Kelly wore antique rhinestone earrings belonging to her grandmother, Gwendoline Rogers.
    Kelly chose Jennifer Matosian of Augusta, Ga., as her maid of honor. Serving as bridesmaids were Jennifer Chase of Statesboro, Casey Colson of Statesboro and Brie Floyd of Lexington, Ga., sister of the groom.
    The bridal attendants wore two-tone baltic prism shantung strapless knee-length dresses with a draped neckline and a self-sash and band at the hem of royal blue. They carried hand-tied bouquets of light blue hydrangeas and mixed white flowers.
    The flower girl was Faith Ann Rogers, cousin of the bride. She wore a white floor-length dress with a royal blue sash at the waist.
    Lamar chose his brother, Derek Nelms of Lexington, Ga., as his best man. Groomsmen were Matt Garrett, Burt Wrenn and Eryc Riddle. Brent Rogers and Kyle Rogers, brothers of the bride, were ushers. Evan Rogers, cousin of the bride, was the ring bearer.
    The couple departed from the reception in a limousine to Savannah, Ga., before leaving for their honeymoon in Hawaii.
    The couple is residing in Athens, Ga.
