Statesboro law firm appoints two new partners

W. Keith Mogowan, Scott A. Hodgin join Franklin, Taulbee, Rushing, Snipes & Marsh, LLC

    Franklin, Taulbee, Rushing, Snipes & Marsh, LLC announces that W. Keith Mogowan and Scott A. Hodgin were named partners of the firm.
    Mogowan specializes in commercial litigation, commercial transactions, and creditors’ rights in bankruptcy. McGowan graduated from Georgia Southern College in 1989, earning his Bachelor of Business Administration with an emphasis in Finance and Banking. He earned his Juris Doctor from the Walter F. George School of Law at Mercer University in 1992 and began his practice in Macon, Georgia, with a focus on commercial litigation, creditors’ rights in bankruptcy, and insurance defense. Since 1997 he has been associated with the firm, where his practice continues to emphasize commercial litigation (including contract disputes and real estate litigation) and creditor’s rights in bankruptcy.  
    He is admitted to practice law in all trial courts in the State of Georgia, the Georgia Supreme Court and Court of Appeals, the United States District and Bankruptcy Courts for Northern, Middle and Southern Districts, and the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals. He is a former President of the Bulloch County Bar Association and is a member of the Statesboro First United Methodist Church and the Statesboro Downtown Rotary Club. He is a former president of the Kappa Alpha Order Alumni Association for Georgia Southern University and has served as the Alumnus Advisor for Kappa Alpha Order. He is a graduate of Leadership Bulloch.  He is a native of Metter, Georgia. His wife, Jodi, teaches at William James Middle School. They have two children, Brogan (age 7) and Aidan (age 4).     Hodgin specializes in real estate transactions; trust and estate matters; and corporate matters. His wife, Mary Beth, is a school psychologist employed by the Bulloch County Board of Education and they have two children, Jackson (age 3) and Asher (age 3 months. Hodgin graduated Cum Laude from Georgia Southern University in 1995 with a B.S. in Accounting and received his Juris Doctor in 1998 from the University of Georgia School of Law.  
    Hodgin is a member of the State Bar of Georgia (real estate and probate sections), Bulloch County Bar Association, the Georgia Court of Appeals, and the Georgia Supreme Court. The focus of his practice is real estate law, probate, wills, corporate law, contracts, trusts and estates, and general practice. His civic activities include participation in the Sigma Chi Alumni Association and he is a graduate of Leadership Bulloch.  Scott is a member of the First United Methodist Church of Statesboro.     The firm also announces that April Riner Stafford has joined the firm as an Associate. Stafford specializes in domestic/family law, criminal law, and real estate transactions. She graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and Chemistry from Georgia College and State University in Milledgeville, Georgia. She earned her Juris Doctor from the Walter F. George School of Law at Mercer University in 2004 and began her practice in Statesboro. 
    Stafford is a member of the State Bar of Georgia (family law and criminal law division), the American Bar Association, the Bulloch County Bar Association, and the Statesboro Exchange Club. Stafford serves as Municpal Court Judge for the City of Oliver, and the public defender for the Municipal Courts of Statesboro, Portal, Register, and Millen. Stafford is an Emanuel County native. Her husband, Mitch Stafford, also an Emanuel County native, is employed with the Statesboro Bulloch County Parks and Recreation Department.
