Two teens arrested for marijuana at Ombudsman School

Staff members at the Ombudsman School on Northside Drive East found marijuana, a large amount of cash and a condemning note that led to the arrest of two juvenile students.  Statesboro Police Capt. L. C. Williams  said school officials called police, who arrested two 15-year-old males. Officers recovered $940 in cash, the marijuana and a note containing evidence, according to police reports. One teen, listed as having a West Grady Street address,  was charged with sale of marijuana, sale of marijuana within 1,000 feet of a housing project and sale of marijuana within 1,000 feet of a school. The other teen, listed as having a J. C. Cannady Road address,  was charged with purchase of marijuana, possession with intent to distribute marijuana within 1,000 feet of a housing project, and possession with intent to distribute marijuana within 1,000 feet of a school. Both teens were transported to the Youth Detention Center in Claxton.
