Portraits in Gray exhibit at GSU museum

The "Portraits in Gray" Civil War Photography Exhibition at the Georgia Southern Museum features an ambrotype photograph of Robert William DeLoach of Bulloch County from the special collections of the Henderson Library. The ambrotype was found in the walls of his home and cracked when it was dropped while being removed from its hiding place behind the wallboards.

"Portraits in Gray" Civil War Photography Exhibition features the collection of David Wynn Vaughn at the Georgia Southern University Museum. Admission to the museum and exhibit is free. The exhibit features 70 images from the collection of David Wynn Vaughn. A native of Atlanta, Vaughn began collecting Confederate images more than 20 years ago and has one of the largest collections in the nation. The exhibit opened in August, but will close on Sunday.
