LaCreasha Brewton does the shooting herself, but she’s the first to credit her teammates for the opportunity.
The opportunity, of course, would be the chance to sink seven 3-pointers in a game, as she did while compiling 21 points Saturday night at Toombs County.
“It was really just all my teammates,” said the sophomore combo guard. “They really helped me do what I need to do.”
Scoring from outside is nothing new for the 5-foot-6 player, now in her second year as a starter for Claxton’s varsity team.
She’s currently third among the Herald Leaders with a 14.2 average, while also placing in the top 10 for steals (2.0 - ninth).
That being said, she couldn’t recall another game when she made as many treys.
Brewton said shooting form is critical for her chances to knock down a long-range attempt.
“I have to make sure that my feet are set and in the correct form, with my elbow in and not out,” she explained.
