Text Size: Small Large Medium
Investigators are seeking information regarding the Tuesday night armed robbery of a Register convenience store.
Around 10 p.m. Tuesday, a black male, around 5’8” tall, wearing a “dark coat with a hood” entered The Store in Register, located on Ga. 46 at the intersection with Kennedy Bridge Road, and showed a hand gun to the clerk, who was cleaning the store and preparing to close, said Bulloch County Sheriff Lynn Anderson.
The suspect demanded cash and left with an undisclosed amount of money, leaving the store on foot, he said.
A K-9 team from Reidsville State Prison arrived and dogs tracked the suspect’s trail a short distance, leading investigators to believe the man got into a vehicle and fled  the area. No one was injured during the robbery and there were no customers present, he said.
Bulloch County Sheriff’s deputies and investigators assisted Register Police Chief Wynn Carney and Officer Bobby Ivey in securing the crime scene, he said. The case was turned over to Inv. Bill Black, who asks anyone having information regarding the armed robbery to contact him at (912) 764-8888. Any information shared with be kept confidential, Anderson said.
