Metter man wins $500,000 playing the lottery

A Metter granddad is celebrating a half-million dollar Georgia Lottery prize. Andrew Jones, 60, played the instant game Jumbo Jumbo Bucks and won $500,000. The lucky ticket was purchased at Jet Food Store #0035, located at 309 W. Broad St. in Metter. Jones scratched the ticket in the store. “I just stood there,” he said. “I had a good feeling inside.” Jones, a line mechanic, has four children and 11 grandchildren. “I’m quite sure they’ll enjoy this,” he said.
