Sheriff's officials: Man wanted for N.J. molestations may be in Bulloch

Alkhabir McCall

Sheriff's officials believe a man wanted on multiple child molestation charges in New Jersey is in the Bulloch County area, and hope citizens can provide information needed to take him into custody.
"The Bulloch County Sheriff's Office has been working with the United States Marshal Service in searching for Alkhabir McCall, a 29-year-old male," said Bulloch County Sheriff's Capt. Todd Hutchens.
"McCall is wanted for several counts of child molestation out of Newark, N.J., and warrants have been issued by the Newark Police Department."
Hutchens, captain of the Bulloch County Sheriff's criminal Investigation Division, said McCall has "distant kin and friends in Bulloch County" and investigators with the U.S. Marshal Service obtained intelligence that leads them to believe he is in this area.
McCall was arrested Nov. 29 on charges of giving false identification information to law enforcement officers. After his release he fled to Newark, but since his trouble there, " he fled back down here," he said.
Hutchens asked that anyone with information on McCall's possible whereabouts call him at (912) 764-1787 or the Bulloch County Sheriff';s Office at 764-8888. Information will be held confidential, he said.
